The Advanced Textile Workshop is suitable for you if you have completed a C&Guilds Embroidery course, an equivalent art based qualification or have been making and creating for as long as you can remember. The course is designed to help develop your practice by opening new pathways to explore. During the first two terms, you will work through directed exercises, exploring materials and various techniques. The emphasis will be on adopting an expressive and individual approach. In the last term, you will work on your own project, producing a resolved piece/body of work. Throughout the workshop, you will be guided and supported with regular tutorials and be required to participate in group tutorials. An experimental and open approach is required as you will be encouraged to question and reflect on your practice, pushing boundaries.
